Max Hebert started his musical journey as a DJ/Promoter in the early 1990s, working with Channel Productions, one of Montreal's first large promotional companies. Channel Productions was responsible for promoting major events featuring live acts such as Daft Punk and Chemical Brothers. They also hosted nights at Montreal's legendary Playground afterhours club. During the mid-1990s when the electronic music scene was first developing in Montreal, Hebert was playing regularly in Montreal's underground circuit, DJing at various local events and loft parties around the city.

In 1994, Hebert joined the famed 514 Productions team, promoting weekly nights at SONA and many quality events in Montreal's largest venues, including Cream, Swirl, Celebration, Chocolate Factory and many others. This position gave Hebert his first official gig in 1995 at SONA during a Breakbeats night under the name DJ Max Traxx. He subsequently travelled to promote different events in various North American cities on the East Coast, including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto and Quebec City.

Hebert's solid background and keen experience in the Funky Breaks genre dominated his style in the 1990's, but today his musical style has evolved to a funkier, groovy Chicago House sound spiced up with pumping Tech House. His versatility as a turntablist and DJ are always apparent in his carefully programmed sets: "My philosophy is to bring people together, be interactive, and mentally fuse with the crowd and understand their demands on the dance floor. When I play music, it's not about me - it's about the crowd. And every crowd is unique and different."

Original co-founder and resident DJ of Remedy and Bounce Fridays at Stereobar, Hebert is currently working as head promoter at Stereo Nightclub as well. He is continually expanding his musical horizons, playing monthly residencies at Living, Beachclub and Stereobar, in Montreal and Club Système in Quebec City since 2001, where he quickly became a crowd favorite. Hebert is known to be one of the DJs responsible for popularizing House Music in Quebec City, whose dance floors were formerly ruled by Trance and Techno.

Hebert has played alongside many internationally-renowned artists in more than a hundred major events, such as John Acquaviva, Hector Romero, David Morales, Roy Davis Junior, Chris Liebing, Tiga, Thomas Krome, Mateo Murphy, Rob Brown, Onionz, Nigel Richards, Robert De La Gauthier, Chris Liberator, Randall Jones, Jay Tripwire, Fred Everything, Paranoid Jack, Big Al, Luc Raymond, Brad Copeland and Eli Wilkie to name a few. He has regularly played opening sets at Stereobar for events featuring David Morales, Satoshi Tomiie, Francois K and Sander Kleinenberg and has earned respect from many local and international peers, DJs and producers over the years. Hebert's plans for 2004 will yield many studio projects in the near future.

Hebert has appeared on the popular radio shows CKUT 90.3 FM and CISM 89.3 FM in Montreal, and CHYZ94.3 FM in Quebec City. He is also on the list of featured artists on PROTONRADIO.COM and the UK's CLUBLANDUK.COM.

Playing a range of music that swings from Breakbeats to Deep/Funky House and pumping Tech House, Max Hebert is one of the hottest new talents to watch in 2004 and will definitely make House music fans get their groove on in the years to come.
