Paul Heron mixes are available to play / download over on eccf.co.uk

At the tender age of just 21, Paul Heron has already made a huge impact on the London and international dj scene.

Originally from Scotland, Paul moved to London to study fashion but soon became hooked on the London clubbing scene and the new sounds he was hearing at clubs such as Trade and DTPM. Eager to get involved, his first job came as video jock at Soho’s Escape Bar, and his good taste and technique shone through and the owners of the bar encouraged him to start djing. His first professional dj job was with DTPM legend Steve Thomas at world wide infamous club – Trade - in the funky lounge.

From there, things took off at a rapid rate and he is now one of the capital’s busiest DJ’s with residencies at Action, Beyond, Crash, Orange, AM, Discotec @ The End, and the Shadow Lounge and Wild Fruit in Brighton.

In 2003, his international career took off with gigs in Paris (culminating in a regular bi-monthly residency at Queen), Amsterdam, Sicily, Frankfurt and South Africa. At the end of February he was booked to guest at New York’s Avalon (formerly Limelight) club supporting Boy George, and scheduled dates in Zurich, Lausanne, Tel Aviv and Singapore. The press also loved Paul in 2003, featuring him in many articles in Time Out, QX international (front cover) and Attitude.

Paul describes his sound as dirty pumping funk and house, touching on sexy disco to tougher tribal grooves. Paul recorded and complied the last compilation cd for Crash – released May and his own single has been signed by new label – Contact Records also due for release this summer.

Wherever Paul plays these days he packs the dance floor – definitely a huge star of the future – catch him now while you still can!
